Salon 910

The fresh face, of this sweet little Salon 910 Hair Studio, began with the downtown Port Neches Avenue business revitalization project. The owner asked me to help with the landscaping and when that was underway, with the freshening of the exterior.

Texas Best Landscape in Nederland bid the job and supplied us with the flagstone for extending the porch area and flagstone pavers for edging the flower beds. The nursery sent the manpower to place the paver edging, dirt and sand, as well as the plants for this project.

The building received a freshly painted coat of SW Urban Putty with SW Dover White trim. We decided to add Black shutters for impact and I thought we should frame the entrance with a dramatic striped outdoor curtain. After about six samples for the front door, we chose this lovely, soft French Blue. We selected double Pink roses, Oleander, a few Blue Russian Sage plants and Blue and White Clematis climb the two trellis. We added a "bike" parking station because some of her clients ride their bikes to their appointments. The little antique wrought iron stand is the perfect spindle width to insert your front tire and 'park it'!

We had so much fun doing this little makeover. With late nights and only the street lights to guide us on occasion, we felt really blessed that when daylight illuminated our work, it thankfully looked really good. The owner selected two really fresh looking pots in which we planted Sky Pencil Holly's. However, we have yet to install the new outdoor porch light but I know it will happen soon.
